RAGGING

Ragging involves individual or collective acts or practices that include physical or
psychological assaults or forced restraint. It subjects students to ridicule and contempt, thereby
affecting their self-esteem. Ragging is a heinous crime and an insult to humanity. It entails
verbal abuse, aggression, indecent gestures, and obscene behaviour, fostering enmity and
hatred. Instead, students should focus on spreading happiness and creating a healthy and
peaceful environment, rather than encouraging hatred.

PROHIBITION OF RAGGING
(ZERO TOLERANCE TO RAGGING)

(i) Ragging, both inside and outside the college campus, is strictly prohibited by law.
Therefore, no student may engage in any form of ragging within or outside the college
premises.
(ii) Under the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, ragging is considered a
punishable offence.
(iii) Any student found involved in ragging in any form will face appropriate disciplinary
action, which may include imprisonment, fines, expulsion from the college, suspension
from classes, imposition of fines along with a public apology, withholding of
scholarships or other benefits, and being barred from representing the college in
events. Legal proceedings under criminal law will also be initiated.
Note: In case of ragging, the student should immediately contact the College’s Anti-Ragging Committee.
